Angela was a pharmaceutical representative for the first 10 years of her career until she decided to make a career change.
“I became a certified general appraiser. I worked as a commercial appraiser for about 10 years and then needed more flexibility in my schedule so I could take care of older parents and younger kids. I switched to residential appraisals and have loved the flexibility and the opportunities.”
Angela appreciates the sense of satisfaction that being an appraiser provides her.
“The most rewarding part of my job is completing an appraisal on time and doing the best I can with the data.”
Going above and beyond is something Angela is always prepared to do for her clients.
“One time the bank really needed to close on a townhome. I went out to the place on a Saturday so I could complete the report. The home wasn’t open. I called the builder but they couldn’t get back to me that day. That weekend I ended up going out to the home two more times. On the last trip, it was finally open. I got the report in on time and the homeowner got to move in on time.”
Professionalism plays an important role in everything Angela does.
“Professional means managing myself with integrity, accountability and responsibility. This is very important to me because it’s my reputation and name on every report.”
Charlotte is one of the fastest growing metro areas. It is estimated that roughly 113 people move to Charlotte every day. This is mainly due to the market’s affordability in comparison to other larger American cities. As a result, year over year, the Charlotte market has remained steady.
“The median home price in December 2023 was $405,113–an increase of $15,239 over last year. There were 768 homes sold in December 2023 vs. 770 homes sold in December 2022. Meanwhile the average-days-on-market actually dropped to 29 days vs. 36 days in December 2023.”
