Owen had worked in customer service roles for most of his adult life and was looking for a change.
“My friend got into the appraising business and said I should join up.”
He took his friend’s advice. In 2021 Owen received his license.
There are many things Owen finds rewarding about being an appraiser.
“The flexibility to make my own hours so I can spend time with my family and raise my daughter is one thing. Then there’s the vast amount of knowledge I have gained by having to deep dive into research and analysis on thousands of properties.”
Time management is something Owen emphasizes on his clients’ behalf.
“Managing my time in favor of the customer, homeowner and lenders is what sets me apart. I treat every order like a rush order.”
Accuracy is extremely important to Owen as well.
“Turning accurate reports in quickly is the most professional way you can run your appraisal business. Sprinkle in some relationship building and you have a nice little professional package.”
The Denver Metro Area that Owen services slowed down in December 2023 vs. last year.
“The median closing price was $588,000, down roughly 3.8% from last year. Sales were also down; from 4,981 to 4,781. Meanwhile the number of homes on the market rose to 3,942 in December vs. 3.752 at this time last year.”
